Covid-19 Update

March 30th

Effective Monday, March 30th, our retail store will be closed to the public.  In a continuing effort to protect both our staff and our customers, we felt this was the most prudent course of action at this time.

Our website ( will still be full steam ahead and staff will be busy fulfilling orders. Beyond having items shipped to you via Canada Post, we will also be offering a curb-side pickup program by appointment.

Simply select “Pick up in Store” as your shipping method and make arrangements with us as to when you will arrive to pick up your items.  Orders must be paid in full to be eligible for this method.

We look forward to continuing to serve you in these trouble times as best as we can, and we are excited to see you again once it is safe to re-open!

Yesterday, the Premier of Nova Scotia declared a state of emergency.

Today, like the many days before it, we have been grappling with the decision to remain open in limited capacity or shut down immediately. We believe that games are important, especially in times like these. We believe that games help with our mental well being.

Over the last few weeks, we have been proactive in announcing our steps to protect each other during this time. We wanted to give everyone an update after yesterday’s announcement.

For those of us who have been to a Bar or Pub, there is a reason why they announce Last Calls.   Eventually the Bar must close.  Last Calls serve as an orderly way to say farewell, a chance to say goodbye until we meet again.

This week will be our Last Call.

We do not know what tomorrow will bring.  The second the Premier asks non-essential business to shut down we will close our doors.  If the Government does not make such an announcement, we will voluntarily shut our doors on Monday, March 30th until it is safe to re-open.

Our website will remain active and we will ship orders as they arrive. We have added a Gift Card option to our website for those of you who wish to support us while we are closed for a future purchase.

We want to thank everyone who has continued to support us during this time and we cannot wait to re-open and see everyone again!

Sometimes, life comes at your fast.

Like many of you, I have been trying to wrap my head around Covid-19 and how we, as a business, should respond to it.

My first concern is the health and wellness of our customers, my staff and all of our families. My second concern is our ability to survive as a small business in troubled times like these.  This creates some challenges that none of us have been faced with before.

While we have wrestled with how we should respond over the last couple of days, a quote I read yesterday resonated with me.

“If you need to be right before you move, you can never win. Perfection is the enemy of good in times of emergency management.”

With that being said, effective TODAY, we are suspending ALL in-store play until April 6th.  This includes RPG groups, Room Rentals and weeknight and weekend events. We will re-evaluate in early April pending the recommendations of NS Health and Canadian Health officials.

We love seeing our communities come together and enjoy their hobbies in our spaces and our in-store organized play contributes strongly to our revenue. So, this was a very difficult decision to make but we view it as an appropriate response to the current events regarding COVID-19.

We will reassess the situation over the first couple days of April.

Our retail Store will remain open, although we will be announcing reduced hours later this week. Our website is also fully operational and you can purchase items you desire for in-store pickup.  We will be offering shipping of all products, and we can arrange for curbside pick up for you as well. For much of this, please call the store at 902-406-2439 or email if you have any questions.

As a community, in the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much but it will be quite apparent if we under reacted or did too little.

We are monitoring updates from both Health Canada & Nova Scotia Health and will follow any directives given by them. In the event there are any changes we will update our webpage as well as all of our social media channels.
